MONICA SMITH

Monica Smith brings 17 years of real estate experience in a wide range of activities including property acquisition, leasing, and development management. Monica is currently the project lead on ArtLofts on Market, a 150,000 square foot mixed-use and mixed-income condominium project. Monica is also consulting to Urban Green and Urban Visions on the creation of a campus of environmentally-focused organizations in Pioneer Square. Over the past three years, Monica has worked on Catapult projects including Triangle Townhomes and Bridge Condominiums, both BuiltGreen projects located in downtown Tacoma.

Prior to joining Catapult, Monica worked for Vulcan Inc. where her responsibilities included property acquisition, asset management, and neighborhood outreach. From 1990 to 1999, Monica was the International Real Estate Manager for Microsoft Corp. and Novell, Inc. Her responsibilities included site selection, leasing and project management. While with Novell, Monica lived and worked in Bangalore, India managing the development of a new campus. Her experience in international corporate real estate with Microsoft and Novell, involving real estate transactions and project management in over 50 countries, gives her exceptional experience and insight into the needs of communities under development.

Monica is currently on Seattle's Urban Land Institute Executive Committee, and is co-chair of the Work Force Housing Committee. She is also on the Advisory Board of the University of Washington's Certificate Program in Commercial Real Estate.
